Optimize and Re-Save a PDF: What Browser Compression Can and Cannot Do
A PDF can be large because of high-resolution images, embedded fonts, or repeated resources. NexaToolPro’s browser-only Optimize PDF function rewrites the document structure; it does not downsample images.
How to use this tool
- Select the PDF you want to optimize.
- Choose Optimize and download.
- Compare the original and output sizes shown when the operation finishes.
- If the file is larger or not small enough, keep the original and use a trusted PDF editor that can reduce image resolution.
- Open the output to check fonts, forms, bookmarks, and page appearance.
Options explained
The tool uses PDF object streams during save. This may reduce some documents, but there is no guaranteed compression ratio and the result can be larger.
Privacy and file limits
This is a best-effort rewrite, not a lossless image optimizer or guaranteed file-size reducer. Keep a copy of the original.
Frequently asked questions
